What: Yuri’s Night Space Coast 2010 Planning Committee Meeting
When: Wed, Feb 17 at 6pm
Where: Kelsey’s Pizza in Port St. John
(Map to 6811 US 1, Port St John, FL 32927)
Who: Artists, engineers, educators, musicians–anyone interested in joining the planning committee for the largest and best space outreach event to hit the Space Coast in years!
Why?
Yuri’s Night is an international celebration held on April 12 every year to commemorate the first human in space, Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961, and the first Space Shuttle launch on April 12, 1981.
In 2010, people will celebrate at hundreds of individual events all around the world. Locations will include Los Angeles, Stockholm, Sydney, Munich, Bangalore, Dubai, New York, and the International Space Station.
Here in the Space Coast, we’ll be trowing a bash at the Astronaut Hall of Fame near Kennedy Space Center. Grab your moon boots and come out for a night of fun as we host bands, performers, and interactive displays. Who knows, a few actual moon walkers may show up too…
