The 2009 International Space Development Conference, the annual conference of the National Space Society, will be held here in Orlando, FL! Thanks to an amazing effort from friends and members of the three Florida-based NSS chapters, the NSS Board of Directors chose Orlando over a fantastic rival bid from Toronto, Canada.

Space Venture Finance Symposium: Wednesday, May 6, 2009
ISDC main programming: Thursday - Sunday, May 7-10, 2009
Basic event details:
- five-day conference (Wednesday-Sunday)
- includes one-day Space Venture Finance Symposium on Wednesday
- plenary sessions followed by breakout sessions
- call for papers to go out in late 2008
- 1,500-2,000 attendees expected
- mix of grassroots space advocates and aerospace industry professionals
- lunches and dinners feature guest speakers
- Gala banquet event to be held at the Apollo/Saturn V Center at the Kennedy Space Center (tentative)
As the host chapter, we are responsible for all of the conference logistics and implementation. We are also primarily responsible for developing conference tracks and inviting non-plenary speakers.

Hi,
Congratulations on winning the bid to host the 2009 ISDC. I’m definitely looking forward to attending. I hope your plans for a banquet at the Kennedy Space Center work out.
