NSS and SEDS at UCF hosted a day of fun in the sun on April 12, 2008! We had beach games for all ages in the afternoon at the Cocoa Beach Pier as well as a VIP reception and cosmic volleyball at night. Space Florida provided a spaceflight simulator FREE for everyone at the beach!
You can also listen to the Yuri’s Night ad played on 95.1FM!
More details and photos will be shared at at SpaceBeachParty.com as they become available. Thanks to everyone that made the event a success!!

About Yuri’s Night
Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space on April 12th, 1961. The US Space Shuttle first launched on April 12th, 1981. Yuri’s Night is like the St Patrick’s Day or Cinco de Mayo for space. It is one day when all the world can come together and celebrate the power and beauty of space and what it means for each of us.
Yuri’s Night was created by space enthusiasts that wanted to join the world of art, music, dance, and exploration in a fun, party atmosphere. The event was initially intended to be local, but it exploded into a grassroots global celebration with tens of thousands of people participating in over 100 events worldwide. Each Yuri’s Night event is locally organized and funded, giving each party a special ‘flavor’ that is always different! From all-night dancing in LA to planetarium shows at the Hayden Planetarium in New York, down to our own Space Beach Party here in Florida!
We look forward to seeing you in April!
